<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><b><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif">GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT</span></b></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> Grand-Plus College of Health Sciences and Technology (GPCHST), Ilorin was founded in April 2021 by Prince Abidoye Ademola. He is professionals of mark and educationists per excellence. Grand-Plus College of Health Sciences and Technology (GPCHST), Ilorin is a private College of Health Technology established to provide liberal higher education and encourage learning in health field in the country. GPCHST is managed and governed by the Director (Proprietor), The Governing Council, and the College Management Team.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><b><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> A. THE DIRECTOR</span></b></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> The Director is the supreme body of the College and it appoints the Chairman and members of the Governing Council of the College and approves the appointment of the College's principal officers, deans and academic staff. They are the financiers of the College. The Director is ultimately responsible for the general management of the affairs of the school and in particular matters of finance, staff conditions of service, discipline, properties, building, programmes and materials provisions.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><b><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> B. THE GOVERNING COUNCIL</span></b></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> The Council is the advisory body of the GPCHST. It is to be headed by the Chairman who shall be appointed by the Director. The members of the Governing Council are as stated in the Constitution of the College,</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><b><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> C. THE MANAGEMENT TEAM OF THE COLLEGE</span></b><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> The Management team comprise of all the principal officers of the College. The Provost shall be the head of the Management team and responsible for day-to-day activities of the College as provided in the College Constitution.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><b><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> D. THE ACADEMIC BOARD </span></b></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> The Academic Board consists of the following as members:</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> 1) The Provost of the College who shall be the chairman;</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> ii) All heads of departments;</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> &nbsp;iii) The College Librarian; and</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> iv) Not more than two members of the academic staff other than heads of departments to be appointed by the Council.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> v) The Registrar is the Secretary of the Board.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><b><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> The Academic Board is responsible for</span></b><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif">: </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> i) Determining the academic policy in the College and makes recommendations to the Council on a wide range of other policy matters.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> ii) The direction and Management of academic matters of the College including the regulation of admission of students, the award of certificates, scholarships, prizes and other academic distinctions;</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> iii) It reviews and co-ordinates the work of the departments, makes regulations governing courses of study and examinations and presentation of the students for the various board examinations. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> iv) Making periodic reports on such academic matters to the Council as the Council may from time to time direct; </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Bookman Old Style',serif"> v) Discharging any other functions which the Council may from time to time delegated to it.</span></p>
